Russia resumes troop buildup in Nikolske community, Mariupol region
The head of the Center for Occupation Studies, Petro Andriushchenko, noted that the Russian army is moving unmarked tracked vehicles from the Donetsk direction, although they usually head toward Donetsk
He shared this information on Espreso TV.
"Based on our observations over the past week, we can say that the Russians has begun regrouping and forming reserves in the Nikolske community of the Mariupol district, specifically in the Novopavlivka direction, with the main concentration in the Rozivka district and some in the Polohy district. Essentially, this covers the area surrounding Huliaipole (Zaporizhzhia region), which remains under our control and has been systematically shelled by the Russian forces over the past week," he stated.
Petro Andriushchenko noted that newly manufactured military equipment, without any markings, has been spotted moving. He emphasized that this poses a threat as it remains unclear where these combat vehicles will be deployed.
"There is an accumulation of forces in this area. Just yesterday, we recorded a significant transfer of tracked vehicles. What stood out was that the equipment was brought in from the Donetsk direction. Typically, this route is not used for a reverse movement—most traffic heads toward Donetsk, not away from it. Secondly, the vehicles appeared brand new, without any tactical markings, which is concerning based on our past experience. When such equipment appears on the front lines, it often means that Russian forces have not yet decided which direction it will be used for offensive actions. This could indicate the involvement of 'Storm V,' 'Storm Z,' or similar units," he explained.
- Russian military command has ordered its soldiers to return to positions near a frontline settlement in the Kupyansk sector that were previously recaptured by Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Troops have reportedly been threatened with execution if they refuse to comply.
