Russia’s Krasnodar region reports drone attack: Afipsky oil refinery likely targeted
On the night of February 10, drone flights were recorded in Russia. According to local authorities, there was reportedly damage in Krasnodar, and the Afipsky oil refinery may have been targeted
The attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles were reported, among others, by the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev.
Initially, Kondratiev wrote that a drone damaged the Centralny residential complex in Krasnodar. According to him, the UAV was allegedly shot down over the city, and the drone’s debris fell on a technical extension on the 19th floor of the building.
This information was also shared by the mayor of Krasnodar, Yevgeny Naumov. He assured residents that he was personally monitoring the situation and reminded them of the ban on photographing or filming air defense operations.
Later, around 2:30 a.m. Kyiv time, Kondratiev reported another allegedly shot-down drone in the village of Afipsky in the Seversky district. According to him, the debris of the downed drone supposedly damaged a private house, though no one was injured.
Near this settlement, which is about 12–13 km from the outskirts of Krasnodar, is the Afipsky oil refinery. Russian Telegram channels reported a fire “in Afipsky, where UAVs attacked the refinery and air defense systems were in operation.”
Meanwhile, on the morning of February 10, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense allegedly intercepted and destroyed “15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles” overnight. According to the ministry, seven UAVs were destroyed over the territory of Krasnodar Krai, three over Bryansk Oblast, two over Rostov Oblast, one over Kursk Oblast, and another over the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
- From February 3 to 9, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Volgograd, and drones attacked Rostov-on-Don. Additionally, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an airfield for launching Shahed drones in Krasnodar Krai.
