Zelenskyy: Putin plans to move on Poland, Hungary, Baltics after Ukraine
After Ukraine, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may turn his war towards the Baltic States, Poland, and Hungary. That is why a ceasefire without security guarantees would be a loss for everyone
This was the opinion expressed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with ITV News.
"He simply wants to kill us. And that is why he must be stopped. And this speaks to why he will go further. Why he will go further to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland. He will go further. Even Hungary, which sometimes talks about something, which balances between Ukraine and Russia officially. They do not know to the end where Putin will go further. He will go further. For him it is important... For him it is his focus, his life. This is his goal - to return the Soviet Union, the influence of the Russian Empire on the world. To return those times and even make some more leap in the history of Russia. And that is what he is doing."
That is why, according to Zelenskyy, a ceasefire without security guarantees will be a loss for everyone.
Answering the question of whether Ukraine will oppose the United States if American leader Donald Trump proposes an agreement that will not be acceptable to Ukrainians, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that this is not beneficial to either side.
"This is not beneficial to us - a country that is at war, and it is not beneficial to President Trump, who is the president of a strong America. Putin's victory is not beneficial to him. If there is a confrontation, God forbid, between the positions of Ukraine and America, then only Putin will benefit from this. Putin's victory is a loss for the Western world. Both Europe and America. He will never stop. And as long as he lives, he will take the lives of others, because he will continue to fight," the President of Ukraine said.
- On Friday, February 7, it became known that a meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy is likely to take place next week.
