Russian forces destroy gas facility in Kharkiv region
Overnight February 8-9, Russian drones destroyed a gas and condensate processing plant in Vodiane village, Kharkiv region
According to Business Media, the field underwent a comprehensive seismic exploration. The work revealed signs of hydrocarbons at depths greater than 6,000 meters. Following this, investments were made to drill ultra-deep wells, and after obtaining a flow of gas and condensate, a gas and condensate processing facility was built, partially using the company’s own funds and partially with a loan.
Thanks to this facility, the field has been developed over the last 10 years.
"Until today, the company diligently paid taxes and provided the region with energy resources. However, due to the complete loss of equipment and production capacity, the company can no longer extract hydrocarbons. Furthermore, the accident on the shared, interdependent gas pipeline system has caused a blockage in the operation of all surrounding fields," the statement reads.
This appears to be a response from Putin to Trump's plans for developing underground deposits in Ukraine.
- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, stated that Ukraine is offering the United States its underground gas storage facilities. Kyiv also invites American businesses to participate in the reconstruction efforts.
