Ukrainian forces destroy Russian troops trying to raise flags in Toretsk, Donetsk region

The press service of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops reports the information.

“In Toretsk, in order to create an appropriate image for Russian propaganda TV channels and media, the invaders tried to install the flags of the aggressor country at different locations six times. As a result of the work of Ukrainian UAV operators, the Russian tricolor flags were destroyed along with the 'flag bearers,'” the military said.

According to them, in the Kramatorsk and Toretsk directions, Russian troops, supported by artillery and various types of UAVs, continue to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the urban areas of Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and near Shcherbynivka. 

In addition, in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian forces tried to use armored vehicles in the fog to deliver assault groups to Ulakly. The convoy was detected in advance. After a firefight, during which several Russian armored personnel carriers were damaged, the vehicles returned to the original area.

In the area of Dvorichna in the Kupyansk direction, the invading troops tried three times to cross the Oskil River. The Russian attempts were detected in advance by Ukrainian defenders and were countered by fire. Ukrainian troops eliminated the enemy boats along with their personnel.

• According to Ukraine's General Staff, 99 combat clashes took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front on February 9. Defense forces repelled 33 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction and 18 in the Kursk direction.
