Three key factors critical to stabilizing Russian-Ukrainian front — Ukraine’s top general

Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, former commander of Ukraine’s Joint Forces, expressed this opinion in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.

“There are three essential components. First: our forces — our soldiers, our military personnel. They must be motivated and well-trained. The command of different branches and types of troops is responsible for their preparation and motivation,” Naiev noted.

According to him, during this preparation, every soldier must be ready for combat operations.

The second component for stabilizing the situation on the front, according to the lieutenant general, is armament. He pointed out that there is currently an issue with providing the frontline with adequate weaponry.

“Where there is a shortage of artillery ammunition, we can support our soldiers with drones — either FPV drones or other types. The Ukrainian soldier must be protected,” emphasized the former commander of Ukraine’s Joint Forces.

According to Naiev, the third layer is management. He stressed the importance of fighting with established structures — divisions and corps — where the commander is simultaneously responsible for the preparation of his personnel and their deployment.

• According to the General Staff, there were 99 combat engagements on the Russian-Ukrainian front on February 9. The Defense Forces repelled 33 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction and 18 in the Kursk direction.
