Even Russian military leaders understand now that Ukraine's liberation of Kherson is a matter of time - military expert Leonid Polyakov

Leonid Polyakov, military expert, ex-deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine (in 2014), notes that the Ukrainian military has the means to defeat Russian troops in the South of Ukraine even without storming enemy fortifications

He shared his opinion with "Espreso.TV" live on air.

"From a military point of view, I think everyone, even Russian military leaders, understand that Kherson is doomed. It is only a matter of time when we concentrate our efforts there and destroy these crossings and destroy all their groups" - Leonid Polyakov said.

The military expert is sure that Russian occupying forces do not have enough forces to attack, and the Ukrainian military has the necessary resources to surround and knock Russians out from the right bank of the Kherson region.

"You may be surprised, but I think that around this bridgehead Ukrainian troops are smaller in number than Russians, who are actually surrounded there, between us and the river. But they do not have enough strength to advance, and we have enough activity to break them little by little, so to speak, without necessarily storming their fortified lines. We will slowly push them back. Russians will, if it goes on like this, withdraw their reserves. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will push back again. And then once again we will find some weak point from which Russians  pulled out our reserves, and we will break through there again. And Ukrainian Armed Forces will surround them again, as we have already shown it twice near Kharkov and there in the direction of Luhansk. And if Russians do not change their tactics, then why should we change ours, which is so successful. As Napoleon said, if the enemy makes a mistake, there is no need to stop him," Leonid Polyakov noted.
