Drawing by Ukrainian girl decorates Juice rocket headed for Jupiter
On Friday, April 14, the European Space Agency launched the Juice rocket, heading to Jupiter, decorated with a drawing by a young girl from Ukraine, Yaryna Zakaliuzhna.
Sky News reported the information.
Today, Europe launched its first special mission to the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter. The Juice research rocket was launched into space to begin its eight-year mission.
The artwork by Ukrainian girl Yaryna Zakaliuzhna, which is decorating the rocket, also went to Jupiter.
The drawing depicting the icy moons of Jupiter and Earth, as well as the rocket itself, won the Juice Up Your Rocket! art competition in 2021.
Engineer Manuela Baroni praised the "cute, cheerful, and genuine" illustrations on the rocket's nose.
For reference. The Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer mission, or Juice for short, will search for life on Jupiter's icy moons Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. The launch was supposed to take place on April 13, but due to bad weather and the risk of lightning, it was postponed to Friday, April 14.
