Ukrainian lawmaker Valentyn Nalyvaichenko says that U.S. President Donald Trump's executive orders are bringing major changes

He said this live on Espreso.

"Donald Trump, in his first week as president, has done more than his predecessors did in years, that's what the American press says. Names don’t matter here. What matters is the intensity with which Trump and his team have started working, it's striking. We've said before that, as a U.S. president, his focus is America first: domestic affairs like illegal immigration, the Mexico border, tariffs, and so on. And now, his executive orders are driving very serious changes in the U.S.," he said.

According to him, these orders carry the weight of the executive branch, where the president and government function as one administration. He also pointed out that from the start, Trump has had full congressional support, with Republicans holding the majority in both the House and Senate. That’s why his appointments have moved so quickly.

"I think with more appointments, the machine of fast decision-making will accelerate, bringing changes, maybe unpleasant for some. The pace will only pick up. I'm sure that once key law enforcement positions are filled, we’ll see an increase in power and pressure, which Putin and his regime will feel even more," Nalyvaichenko concluded.

  • On January 21, Trump signed an executive order reinstating the death penalty. The attorney general was instructed to take all necessary and lawful measures to secure enough lethal injection drugs.
  • On January 22, he signed an order suspending the physical entry of foreigners via the southern U.S. border.
  • On January 23, Trump declassified documents related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.
  • He also signed an order designating the Ansar Allah group, known as the Houthis, as a foreign terrorist organization.
  • On January 26, he dismissed inspectors general overseeing anti-corruption efforts and legal compliance across more than a dozen federal agencies.
  • On January 28, Trump signed an order launching a next-generation missile defense system, known as Iron Dome. He instructed the Pentagon to present a design and deployment plan within 60 days.
