Defense Express explains why Crimea ferry was chosen as target for attack
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi noted that the Russians miscalculated, believing that they had destroyed Ukraine's missile program
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“We are already taking it for granted that it may not be drones, but our own long-range missile weapons that are hitting the territory of the Russian Federation. Why am I talking about long-range missiles? Because the occupation administration of the Russian Federation claims that the engine room of a large ferry with a hull length of more than 100 meters, which can carry railroad cars, was hit. The engine room on such a ship is too large a segment to be hit by even a few drones. It looks like a missile hit it,” Kyrychevskyi suggested.
The military expert explained why the Crimean-Caucasus ferry was chosen for the attack.
“Until the Russians put the Crimean bridge into operation, the ferry crossing was the main tool of complete militarization of the Crimean peninsula. Now the Russians have transferred military logistics and transportation of explosive materials to these ferries,” noted Kyrychevskyi.
According to the military expert, the Russian forces may also have strategic vulnerabilities.
“When the Russians fired missiles at our military-industrial complex in December 2023, they hoped that they had done everything to prevent such attacks on their facilities, but they miscalculated. I think that soon the General Staff will officially confirm how badly the Russians miscalculated, thinking that they had destroyed our missile program. Let them continue to make mistakes,” Kyrychevskyi emphasized.
