British Intelligence: Kadyrov sends his troops to Ukraine's frontline to strengthen his reputation with Putin
The troops formed on the territory of Chechnya play a significant role in the war with Ukraine. Ramzan Kadyrov demonstrates his loyalty to Vladimir Putin
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defenсe on Twitter.
As noted in the report, on August 10, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov acknowledged the efforts of the Chechen Vostok-Akhmat battalion in the heavily contested Orikhiv frontline in Zaporizhzhia region.
Kadyrov's comments also emphasized the role of one of the main Chechen units in this key area.
According to British intelligence, Vostok-Akhmat is officially subordinated to the 42nd Motor Rifle Division of the Southern Military District, which has been active in the area of Robotyne.
"Chechen forces comprise a relatively small but high-profile component of Russian forces in Ukraine. Kadyrov likely heavily promotes his units' roles partially to burnish his credentials as a Putin loyalist," the report says.
