Blasts in Crimea occur where Russia’s critical military infrastructure is located – human rights activist Aliyev
Public figure, deputy director general of the Ukrainian Institute, human rights activist Alim Aliyev noted that during the occupation of Crimea, Russians have deployed many military bases on the peninsula
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"In Crimea, there are explosions where the critical infrastructure of the Russian Ministry of Defence is located. That is, shells or fuel tanks explode, which the occupying Russian army takes to the front. There is no mass resettlement of people living near explosion sites. We have to prepare our citizens living in Crimea for the fact that such a situation will be repeated more and more often," Aliyev stressed.
According to him, Ukraine strikes exclusively at military depots and critical infrastructure of the aggressor.
"During the occupation, the invading Russian army has set up a bunch of military bases in Crimea, but the tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are different from those of the occupying Russian forces. Ukraine strikes exclusively at the aggressor's military depots and critical infrastructure. The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not hit civilian infrastructure because it is our land. After the de-occupation, we will have to restore a lot of things," Aliyev said.
On the morning of July 24, locals heard powerful explosions in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The head of the occupation authorities of the peninsula, Sergei Aksyonov, said that Ukrainian drones allegedly hit an ammunition warehouse in the Dzhankoy district.
What the Russian Defence Ministry says
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, during the night of July 24, an "attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack" on targets on the territory of the Crimean peninsula was allegedly stopped. They claim that 17 drones were launched from Ukraine.
According to them, 14 Ukrainian UAVs were suppressed by electronic warfare, of which 11 drones crashed in the Black Sea, and another 3 crashed on the peninsula.
In addition, three UAVs were allegedly destroyed by air defence systems. The Russian Ministry of Defence emphasises that there were no casualties as a result of the "terrorist attack".
