Biden once again promises to support Ukrainians as long as necessary
US President Joe Baden says Russian President Vladimir Putin's goal is the complete destruction of Ukraine, but he will fail, and the West will support Ukraine as long as necessary
RBC-Ukraine reported the information citing Baden's statement at a briefing in Kyiv.
"Difficult days, weeks and years are ahead. Putin's goal is to wipe Ukraine off the map," the US president said.
Biden believes that Putin's military campaign is failing, and his troops are suffering losses in manpower and have now lost half of the territories they seized. Many Russians are leaving and will not return because they see no future in Russia.
"The Russian economy is falling, it is isolated and facing difficulties," the American president emphasized.
According to him, Ukraine used to be weak and the West was divided, and the Russian dictator was counting on that.
"He (Russian President Vladimir Putin - ed.) thought that he would last longer than we would. I don't think he thinks that now," President Biden added.
At the same time, the US president once again promised to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
"This is the largest ground war in Europe in three quarters of a century. And you have succeeded in it, contrary to all expectations, except your own. And I am confident that you will continue to win," the US president said.
