World’s weak reaction unleashes Russians' hands for man-made disasters - Ukrainian officer Lapin

Ihor Lapin, Special Forces officer with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and MP, believes that Russia’s primary concern lies not in the well-being or population of Ukraine, but rather solely in its territory

He shared his opinions on Espreso TV’s Verdict with Serhiy Rudenko program.

"Russians have never been tolerant of the existence of our state. They used scorched earth tactics when they stormed cities, destroying neighborhood after neighborhood, seizing the territory of Ukraine. The Russians are not interested in how many Ukrainians will live in the country, they are only interested in the territory to satisfy their imperial ambitions," Lapin emphasized.

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, the world's weak reaction unleashes Russia's hands for man-made disasters.

"Russians have already seen the effect of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam, and they are satisfied with it. They have killed agriculture in certain regions of Ukraine. Next, they plan to mine the ZNPP. Unfortunately, the world's weak reaction to the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam unleashes the Russians' hands for man-made disasters, including a nuclear disaster. We see that the Russians are following this path," Lapin emphasized.

  • On June 6, Russian occupying forces blew up the Kakhovka HPP, completely destroying it.  The tragedy resulted in the flooding of settlements in the Kherson region, including Kherson city. There are also reports of flooding in Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, resulting in fish pestilence. Follow the detailed course of events here.

  • The National Resistance Center said that at least 500 people could have died in the temporarily occupied Oleshky, on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
  • As of June 20, at least 21 people died in floods on the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
  • Intelligence has received information that Russia is considering a scenario of a terrorist attack on the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, which would cause a radiation release.
