Xi Jinping meets with Macron and von der Leyen in Paris

In brief public remarks before the negotiations, Xi stated that he considers relations with Europe a priority of China's foreign policy and emphasized that both sides should remain committed to the partnership.
"As the world enters a new period of turbulence and change, as two important forces in this world, China and Europe should adhere to the positioning of partners, adhere to dialogue and cooperation..." Xi said.
At the beginning of the meeting, both Macron and von der Leyen called on Xi Jinping to ensure more balanced trade between the EU and China.
According to Macron, Europe and China are at a turning point in history that requires solving structural difficulties, including achieving a level playing field for business.
"The future of our continent will also very clearly depend on our capacity to further develop in a balanced way our relationship with China," he emphasized this during the talks at the Elysée Palace.
