Russian authorities claim drone destroyed near St. Petersburg

An airplane-type UAV has been spotted in the Leningrad region near the Russian city of St. Petersburg. Russian authorities claim it has been destroyed.

Governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko announced this.

"Surveillance posts near the Leningrad region detected an unmanned aircraft-type vehicle. The airspace was closed. The air defense forces destroyed the object near the village of Fornosovo, Tosnensky district," he wrote.

Drozdenko added that there were no casualties or damage.
