"Russia's complete misunderstanding of how the global democratic system works was the beginning of the end of the Putin regime. This became clear at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin still does not understand how the global democratic system works and cannot influence it," Kharchenko explained.

The diplomat also commented on Putin's visit to China. According to him, Xi Jinping is signaling to the world that he is ready to cooperate with Putin.

"Regarding Putin's visit to China, the whole picture is now becoming even more obvious to the world. China is not satisfied with the world's democratic system, and Beijing is ready to cooperate even with international criminals to destroy this system. We should not hope that China will help defeat Russia. Because China is sending signals that it is ready to support Putin. These are things that have become obvious today," he added.
