Why the Crimean Bridge is not the Crimean Bridge
The Crimean Bridge is a bridge over the Moskva River on the Garden Ring in Moscow
The illegally installed structure for crossing the Kerch Strait is not the "Crimean" bridge, but the Kerch bridge. This is the bridge that is being targeted...
But it's okay, the time for the Crimean bridge in Moscow will also come...
I will add an explanation:
This is a name introduced and used by Russian propaganda. The hidden meaning is a bridge leading to Crimea from Russia. It shapes our consciousness, programs us through landmarks.
“The Crimean Bridge in Moscow is named so because historically, the road to Crimea began from that point, and Muscovites used it to bring tribute to the Crimean khans.”
However, even for residents of Crimea, the name of the bridge across the Kerch Strait seems absurd, as it doesn't connect them to Crimea, but rather to Kuban.
So, for us, as Ukrainians, including Crimeans, this name is absurd from a geographical point of view (not to mention political).
In the event that the bridge is reconstructed following the de-occupation of both Crimea and Kuban, it may become the Kuban bridge, not the Crimean.
But most likely, it will be called the Kerch bridge, after the name of the nearest settlement, which indicates its location. By analogy with Chohar or Henichesk.
