Website was created in Ukraine to fix the crimes of the Russian Federation against culture
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has created a website to document Russia's crimes against culture. It will be used as evidence in The Hague
This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko.
"When we win, the words "Great Construction" and "Great Restoration" will acquire an even greater, more powerful meaning. After all, the aggressor, in hysterical hatred for Ukraine, is trying to destroy everything. Our past, our present, our future. We will have to restore all this", it is said in his message.
The bombardment of the Svyatogorsk Holy Dormition Lavra in the Donetsk region, artillery strikes and robbery at the "Popov's Manor" in Zaporizhzhya, the destruction of the Ivankivsk Museum of Local Lore in the Kyiv region, where the unique works of the artist Maria Prymachenko were kept.
These and other war crimes have already been recorded and will be used as evidence in the Hague court.
"Now a website has been created to record crimes against the cultural heritage of Ukraine: So far, there are about fifty facts. I am sure that after the war this number will go to thousands. After all, the fate of cultural values, sights that have been in the Kremlin’s occupation since 2014 is unknown. And today’s atrocities of Russians in general put them on a par with the Nazis, who exported valuables from the occupied countries. But I'm sure Russia will pay for everything. Indemnities or reparations", Tkachenko added.
