National security expert explains what can speed up weapon supply from allies
Ivan Varchenko, Ukrainian servicemen and national security expert, believes that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces carry out successful counteroffensive actions, it will speed up the delivery of weapons from Western partners
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"As soon as Ukraine is able to launch successful counteroffensive actions, it will lead to a sharp acceleration in the supply of weapons from our partners. There's already a keen interest in contributing to Russia's defeat. I firmly believe that if Ukraine's counteroffensive in the summer of 2023 had been more effective, our partners would've been more proactive in offering military aid. However, a successful counteroffensive demands the right resources, notably aviation, which was severely lacking in the summer of 2023," Varchenko explained.
The expert emphasized that some of the partners are sincerely interested in Ukraine's victory and openly say so.
“At least some of our partners have started supplying us with weapons faster. These are the ones who refused to play geopolitical games and stick to their values. These countries are openly saying that they are interested in Ukraine's victory. And this is regardless of what election campaigns we will have in the future,” he added.
