"We are trying to find creative solutions": the Foreign Ministry engages the best lawyers in the world to receive reparations and indemnities from the Russian Federation

This was announced by the co-agent of Ukraine at the hearings at the International Court of Justice, Director of the Department of International Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oksana Zolotareva during the national telethon.

"This is an issue that we are working on and trying to find more creative solutions, because the world after the Second World War was not ready for such daring, aggressive actions of one state against another state", she said.

"Therefore, more than ever, creative solutions are needed, on which we are working with the involvement of the best lawyers in the world", Zolotareva noted.

In addition to the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, law enforcement agencies are working on this in order to seek compensation at various sites and legally establish the guilt of the aggressor country.

However, the execution of the decision of this court, when it is available, will take a long time. In addition, this will require the political will of the partner states, explained Oksana Zolotareva.

Recall that Ukraine, according to President Zelensky, requires Russia to pay material damage for the destructive actions of the invasion forces.
