Water level in Dnipro River is expected to increase around 11 a.m.
According to Kherson Regional Council Chairman Samoilenko, the water level in the Dnipro River is expected to rise significantly around 11 a.m., as Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
He stated this during an interview on the "Espreso" TV channel.
“At night, the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up. There is currently a rapid but gradual rise in the water level in the Dnipro River and the surrounding areas. The critical rise is anticipated by 11 a.m., with the Korabel residential neighborhood in Kherson projected to experience a water level increase of up to 3-3.5 meters,” he reported.
In light of this situation, preparations for evacuation are underway in the settlements of the Kherson region. Samoilenko emphasized the importance of caution, urging citizens to avoid locations with power systems to minimize the risk of electric shocks in case of flooding.
