'Now is best opportunity to cut off Russia's oxygen': Zelenskyy addresses European Parliament
On November 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed a meeting in the European Parliament via video link, urging partners to continue to put pressure on Russia
He made this point in his speech.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine, together with its partners in Europe and the United States, had succeeded "not only in preventing Putin from taking Ukraine, but also in defending the freedom of all European countries.”
"Even with the support of North Korea, Putin is still a smaller power compared to the power we are forming. And I want you not to forget that," the president emphasized.
He added that during the 1,000 days of full-scale invasion, "we radically reduced Russia's ability to wage this war. In particular, we are talking about oil prices and how we cut off Russia's oxygen.”
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia continues its aggressive war, so Europe must continue to do everything to stop it, including through sanctions.
The president recalled that Russia has already deployed more than 11,000 North Korean troops and added that Vladimir Putin could deploy more than 100,000 troops from the DPRK.
"Think about this number. Putin is focused on his victory. He will not just stop. The more time this war goes on, the more the situation worsens. And so now is the best opportunity to cut off Russia's oxygen even more. To act stricter and more," Zelenskyy emphasized.
In his speech, the president also thanked the partners for their assistance and expressed hope that the next year would be a year of peace.
