Turning point in war — Poland’s Duda on U.S. authorization of ATACMS strikes for Ukraine
Polish President Andrzej Duda has described the United States' decision to allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory as a potential "turning point in the war"
According to RMF24, Duda praised U.S. President Joe Biden's approval of Ukraine's use of long-range ATACMS missiles against Russia, calling it a “significant change.”
"I support President Biden's decision. I believe Ukraine should have these defensive capabilities to push Russian forces back from the front line, especially as Russia is now bringing in allies, such as North Korean soldiers, to fight on their side,” said Duda.
The Polish leader also stated that this move would “dramatically change” the situation on the front lines.
"Russia can see that Ukraine is receiving strong, unwavering support. The West’s position on aggression against a sovereign, independent state is steadfast and consistent. This is very significant - it may even be a turning point in the war," he added.
Duda believes the ATACMS strikes could force Russian troops to retreat from the frontlines and Ukraine's borders, weakening Russia’s ability to carry out offensive operations.
- President Biden authorized Ukraine to use the U.S.-supplied long-range missiles to strike Russian and North Korean forces in Russia's Kursk region, marking a significant shift in U.S. policy.
