Ukraine's Tavria grouping of troops to withdraw from Kurakhove in 10-15 days - military expert
Military expert from the Defense Strategies Center, retired Colonel Viktor Kevliuk, believes the main trend on the front today is a deterioration of the situation
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
“The main trends are the Russian sudden attack near Kupyansk and the steady deterioration of the situation near Kurakhove. And this morning I saw information that the Russian forces advanced in the Kramatorsk sector, where they had been unable to do anything for a year. These are three such hotspots, and the tendency to deteriorate the situation is the main trend today,” he noted.
According to him, we should also expect the Ukrainian military to withdraw from Kurakhove.
“In the next 10-15 days, we should expect the withdrawal of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops from both Kurakhove and the northern bank of the Kurakhove reservoir. The territory there is absolutely unsuitable for defense, because it is a plain that is shelled and observed for a huge number of kilometers. We need to retreat to a more favorable defense line before this group is surrounded,” said Kevliuk.
- On November 15, it was reported that in the Kurakhove sector, after the occupation of Illinka, Russian terrorists intensified their assault on Nova Illinka and Berestky
- On November 17, military observer Denys Popovych said that two rings of encirclement of the Ukrainian military could be formed in the Kurakhove district.
