Ukrainian Defense Forces advance near Novoprokopivka and Bakhmut

Ukrainian defenders continue their offensive and have advanced near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, and Novoprokopivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported the information.

It noted that Ukrainian fighters launched ground attacks on the railway line between Klishchiivka and Andriivka over the past day. According to analysts, citing Ukraine’s General Staff, the Ukrainian Armed Forces achieved partial success near these settlements.

On Thursday, October 5, 226 signatures were collected in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s parliament) for an appeal to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk to consider the ban of the UOC (MP) in Ukraine.

MP Yulia Klymenko reported the information.

"226 signatures of MPs have been collected for an appeal to Ruslan Stefanchuk to put the ban on the Moscow Church to a vote, so there are supporters (of the initiative - ed.) in the parliament," the statement reads.

Ukraine to receive more air defense systems following Zelenskyy's visit to Spain

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced the information on the United News telethon, RBC-Ukraine reports.

According to Kuleba, against the backdrop of the Russian terrorist attack in the Kupyansk district, which killed 49 people, the key topic of conversation is air defense, anti-aircraft systems, anti-drone weapons, and electronic warfare. That is, everything that will allow Ukraine to prevent such tragedies and suppress the ability of Russian troops to bomb its peaceful towns and villages.

"The president has specific agreements, I cannot voice them now, but more such systems will be in Ukraine as a result of the president's visit to Granada," the minister added.

IT Army shuts down Russia’s largest airports 

This was reported by the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.

"The IT army is actively working, almost every day Russian websites fail, data leaks, and the work of government agencies is paralyzed. One of the latest cases is the shutdown of the largest airports in Russia. The IT army hacked into Leonardo, a Russian airline booking system," he said.

SBU drones cut important Russian military facilities in the Kursk region from power supply

SBU drones have cut off power supply for important Russian military facilities, a source in the special service told Unian journalists.

In particular, according to sources, another blackout took place "as part of the 'preparation' of the occupying forces for the autumn-winter period."

Russian military facilities were connected to a power substation in the settlements of Sudzha, Lyubimovka and Glushkovo in the Kursk region. The substation was attacked by SBU drones.

This is not the first blackout in the Kursk region caused by SBU attacks. The previous one was on September 29, and before that - on September 26. Back then, power substations that supplied power to important Russian military facilities were also hit.

Joint fight against disinformation: Ukraine signs an agreement with Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Romania

This was reported by the press service of the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security.

According to the document, the parties will provide mutual support for activities to analyze and curb the spread of multidimensional disinformation at the national, regional and international levels.

In addition, the countries will conduct joint exercises to detect, respond to and prevent disinformation.

Ukrainian aviation carries out 12 strikes against Russian forces

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 12 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian missile troops hit a Russian communications center, an anti-aircraft missile system, a heavy flamethrower system, 3 artillery pieces and an electronic warfare station.
