US to hand over weapons seized from Iran to Ukraine

The United States will hand over thousands of confiscated Iranian weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, which could help overcome the critical shortage faced by the Ukrainian army.

This was reported by CNN.

According to officials, the US Central Command is expected to announce its decision this week.

It is unclear what legal authority the US will use to facilitate the transfer of weapons – the UN requires that seized weapons be destroyed or stored. The Biden administration has been weighing for months how to legally send the weapons stored at CENTCOM (US Central Command) facilities in the Middle East.
