US General advises how to stop Russian terror against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure
Retired US General Ben Hodges says that it is possible to stop Russian terror against critical infrastructure through strikes on Russia’s missile and drone launch sites
Hodges shared his opinions in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, Ukraine should stop counting how many missiles Russia has left, and instead strike at the sites from which attacks against civilians and critical infrastructure are launched.
"I no longer think about whether Russia may run out of missiles. There seems to be a lot of them left. And it also seems that there are still hundreds of drones that Iran has supplied. So the key tasks are: first, to do everything possible to protect the population. The second is to continue to improve air and missile defense. The third is to trace the source, that is, to strike the sites from which these missiles and drones are launched," Hodges said.
He stressed that in order to deprive Russia of the opportunity to launch attacks from the deep rear with impunity, the West should provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.
"We cannot allow Russia to fire from its hiding places with impunity. The West's restrictions on providing weapons with a longer range than GMLRS actually gives Russia such hiding places," explained the General.
