UN Human Rights Mission identifies 133 victims of sexual violence in Ukraine, 85 of them men
As of January 31, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine has recorded 133 victims of sexual violence: 85 men, 45 women and 3 minors
This was stated by the head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU), Matilda Bogner, at a press conference in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"The terrible price that people pay for the war is also manifested in cases of conflict-related sexual violence that we have been recording since February 24 last year. As of January 31 of this year, we have recorded 133 victims, namely 85 men, 45 women and 3 underage girls," she said.
The report states that 109 cases "were allegedly committed by the military, law enforcement and penitentiary personnel of the Russian Federation.”
According to the HRMMU, 24 cases "were allegedly committed by Ukraine’s Security Service, the Ukrainian police, Ukrainian civilians or members of the Territorial Defense Forces."

On March 4, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska reported that prosecutors were investigating 171 cases of sexual violence against Ukrainians by the Russian military, 39 men among the victims.
