Ukrainian security forces conduct searches of MP who went on vacation abroad, claiming to be accompanying his father for medical treatment
The State Bureau of Investigation and Security Service of Ukraine are searching the house of a people's deputy who traveled abroad, pretending to be accompanying his father for treatment
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
“According to the investigation, an elected representative of the people left our country, pretending to accompany his father for medical treatment in a foreign institution. However, it turns out that the parliamentarian's father traveled abroad and returned on his own, not with the elected representative,” the statement said.
Law enforcement is also looking into whether the deputy signed official papers while he was outside Ukraine, and there are suspicions that these documents may have been forged.
Two charges have been brought against him:
- Official forgery (Article 366, Part 1)
- Unauthorized actions with information processed in automated systems, committed by a person who has the right to access it by prior collusion with a group of persons (Article 362, Part 3)
If found guilty, he could face up to 6 years in prison and a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.
According to RBC-Ukraine and Ukrainska Pravda sources, the person involved in this investigation is MP Oleksandr Dubinskyi.
Please note that, as per Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
