Ukraine’s victory: Former Aidar battalion company commander Yevhen Dykyi identifies two key factors
Yevhen Dykyi, the ex-commander of the Aidar battalion, believes that providing substantial military assistance to Ukraine is essential for the complete liberation of Ukrainian territories
He shared this view during an interview on Espreso.
“NATO has the capacity to expedite the end of the conflict in Ukraine. Both Ukrainian soldiers and NATO's military resources are crucial in this war. These two elements are indispensable for achieving victory in Ukraine. If manpower is solely our problem, then the supply of weapons, unfortunately, relies heavily on our allies. The measured assistance they provide has already had a significant impact on the course of the conflict. Unfortunately, it continues to influence the progress of the Armed Forces. Therefore, swift arms deliveries to Ukraine can greatly influence the ongoing war and determine its duration,” he said.
Yevhen Dykyi also expressed concern that Western countries do not fully grasp the Russians' intentions regarding the Ukrainian territory.
He stated, "The issue is that the West did not initially provide us with weapons to secure a victory. In essence, that was not their primary objective. Most of our allies, especially the United States, which possesses sufficient weaponry, aimed to deter Putin in the first place. Now that our military has succeeded in this regard, the West is uncertain about the next steps. Consequently, they started providing measured military aid in the hope that each infusion would enable the Ukrainian Armed Forces to expel Russian troops entirely from Ukraine. They fail to comprehend the rationale and motivations of the Russians. The Russians won't simply withdraw voluntarily. Only through substantial military aid can we advance and drive the enemy out of our homeland."
