Ukraine's Security Service identifies Russian commanders who gave orders to execute civilians in Kyiv region
The Ukrainian Security Service has identified two Russian commanders who gave orders to execute civilians in the Kyiv region.
The Security Service shared the news on its website.
The battalion commander, Major Maksim Krasnoshchokov, and the company’s deputy commander, Major Oleksandr Vasyliyev, ordered the brutal torture and execution of 5 civilians in the Kyiv region.
"They controlled the actions of Russian motorized infantry units during the temporary occupation of the village of Peremoha in Kyiv region. Security Service investigators found that Russian military forcibly detained and tortured residents. Both commanders personally interrogated Ukrainians and tried to extract information about members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the end, they gave subordinates an order: to shoot people with machine guns right at the place of torture and to blow up the building with bodies to hide a war crime," the message said.
Majors Krasnoshchokov and Vasiliyev, servicemen of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Guards General Army of the Central Military District of the Russian Federation, have now been declared suspected of violating the laws and customs of war. They face life imprisonment.
