Russia loses $16 million Alligator helicopter
Ukrainian soldiers with the 47th Detached Mechanized Brigade have destroyed a Russian Ka-52 helicopter
"Friends, great news! The soldiers with the 47th Detached Mechanized Brigade have 'landed' a Russian Ka-52 Alligator helicopter,'' the statement says.
According to the military, the cost of one such helicoper is $16 million.
Also, according to the Ukrainian Land Forces, units of the Defence Forces shot down a Russian Su-25 in the Donetsk region. All Russia's attempts to advance are met with fierce resistance from Ukrainian defenders.
Attack on an air defence unit in Crimea
On May 13, at around 6am, several missiles attacked a Russian air defence unit on Mount Ai-Petri in southern Crimea. The unit's commander was reportedly killed.
As a result of the attack, the territory of the military unit 85683 was damaged, and the commander Alexander Kulakov and another military officer were killed.
Preliminary, the attack was carried out by Storm Shadow missiles, ASTRA writes.
The South Coast Radar is the most famous military facility in Velyka Yalta.
Prior to the occupation of Crimea, the Ukrainian radio frequency battalion of the 40th Radio Technical Brigade of the Air Force was located here, with Soviet-made radar systems Oborona, "Altai" and Granitsa-M, as well as Ukrainian 36DS-6.
Russia's Belgorod and Lipetsk regions attacked by Ukrainian drones
On the night of May 13, drones hit an oil depot and a power substation in Russia's Belgorod and Lipetsk regions. Ukraine's Security Service (known by Ukrainian acronym SBU) was behind the attack
That night, SBU drones were actively operating in Russia's Lipetsk and Belgorod regions.
The attacks resulted in fires at the Oskolneftpostachannya oil depot near the town of Stary Oskol in the Belgorod region, as well as at the 500 kV Eletskaya substation in the Lipetsk region.
According to media sources, the affected power substation supplies traction substations of the Russian railroad, the Stanovaya oil pumping station, and ensures transit between the Lipetsk, Oryol, and Bryansk power grids.
Germany's IRIS-T air defence system will be in Ukraine in May
Ukraine already has several IRIS-T air defence systems in place, and this month Germany will deliver another system.
Germany committed to supplying new IRIS-T systems to Ukraine this year, as well as in the following years up to 2026, demonstrating a "consistent effort."
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced on June 1, 2022, that Germany would provide Ukraine with modern air defence systems.
