Ukraine to receive another batch of F-16 jets from Netherlands this year
In 2025, Ukraine will receive another batch of F-16 fighter jets. The Netherlands will also continue training Ukrainian pilots, engineers, and technical personnel
This was discussed during a meeting between Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and his Dutch counterpart Ruben Brekelmans, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
“The Netherlands plays a key role in the Air Force Coalition, supporting the development of our aviation infrastructure and capabilities. It is crucial to act quickly and effectively together with our partners,” said Umerov.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the field of unmanned aviation. They agreed on the allocation of the previously announced €400 million to expand drone capabilities, including the development and production of long-range systems.
Additionally, Umerov and his Dutch counterpart addressed the supply of artillery ammunition, air defense systems, and interceptor missiles.
“The parties also separately considered the prospects for developing joint defense enterprises, which will contribute to strengthening the defense capabilities of both countries,” the Ministry of Defense concluded.
- In June 2024, the Netherlands authorized Ukraine to use F-16s for strikes against Russia.
