Russia launches 13 attacks in Kharkiv sector, fighting continues near Vovchansk
The Russian aggressor continues its offensive against Ukraine, Russian forces carried out 13 attacks in the Kharkiv sector over the last day
This is stated in the evening report of the Ukrainian General Staff for May 14.
The number of combat engagements increased to 93 over the last day.
"The enemy continues offensive actions. The highest activity is observed in the Pokrovsk sector. The defence forces are bravely holding back the enemy's onslaught and responding firmly to the invaders' attempts to advance," the statement said.
Frontline situation and shelling of Ukrainian territory
Russian forces have already carried out 13 attacks in the Kharkiv sector. In particular, in the areas of Hlyboke - Lyptsi, Shebekino (RF) - Vovchansk, Borysivka - Neskuchne. The Russian enemy also carried out 8 air strikes. Fighting is ongoing on the outskirts of Vovchansk.
- In the Kupyansk sector, Russia launched an air strike near Serhiivka. As of today, a total of 9 combat engagements have been recorded. Three of them are ongoing. Russian invaders are suffering losses, the data is being clarified.
- In the Lyman sector, Russia tried twice to improve the tactical situation in the areas of Ivanivka and Terny without success.
- In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy conducted 9 attacks. Russia also carried out three air strikes in the areas of Ivanivske, Druzhba and Pivnichne. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
- In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian enemy does not reduce the intensity of attacks. Enemy combat aircraft are active — 13 air strikes were registered on May 14. In total, 30 Russian attacks took place in the sector today. Most of them took place in the areas of Novooleksandrivka and Netailove.
- In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled 7 hostile attacks. Russian enemy tried to push Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka and Krasnohorivka.
- In the Vremivka sector, 6 unsuccessful Russian assaults near Staromayorske were recorded. Russian invaders were repelled and retreated.
The situation in other sectors did not change significantly.
"The occupation troops are mainly acting in infantry groups of up to 1-2 motorized rifle units. Our soldiers continue to confidently hold back the enemy and inflict maximum losses on them," the General Staff added.
