Ukraine’s military needs 100,000 FPV drones per month – charity co-founder
The Ukrainian soldiers at the frontline need 100,000 FPV drones per month, which is about $30 million. This sum is small in the context of the war
Co-founder of the Khvylya91 charity foundation Oleksandr Yakovenko shared this information on the air of Espreso TV.
"According to my calculations, the frontline needs about 100,000 FPV drones per month. That's about $30 million a month to spend on such a system to destroy the enemy. This is a very small amount of money in the context of the war. $30 million is five shots from the Patriot air defence system," he said.
According to Yakovenko, it is more than possible to do this with volunteer money, society, but in any case, the state should join in the future.
"Ukraine is doing it, the state is starting to buy FPV drones from manufacturers, and this is a very good way to go. This should be done as soon as possible - we have a very big crisis with these drones at the frontline. The Russian enemy has more of them, and we have to work with this. A $300-350 drone cannot be in short supply, there must be a lot of them. It destroys equipment worth hundreds of thousands and millions. Of course, out of ten drones, a maximum of two hit the target. The hit rate is about 20%. When 10 drones cost $4,000, and you destroy equipment worth half a million, there is an understanding that it is very, very effective," the volunteer concluded.
