The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported the information.

From now on, women's summer field uniforms are officially in service. Work is currently underway on the introduction of women's body armor.

Work on the introduction of women's field uniforms began in 2022. Since then, numerous meetings of working groups have been held, and the uniforms have been developed and tested.

"The model of the summer field suit for our servicewomen is going through the proper procedures within the stated timeframe. The technical specification and the prototype have already been approved. Therefore, the relevant procurement procedures and supply to the troops will be launched in the near future," said Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov.

He also added that the updated model of the uniform took into account all the wishes and comments of the servicewomen who participated in the pilot tests.

"I believe that the new uniform will make it much more comfortable to perform both combat and logistical duties. By the way, it is not yet a widespread practice among NATO member states, despite their standard being utilized for tailoring. And in general, women's military uniforms have not been commonplace in any country for a long time," Reznikov said.

In addition, work is currently underway to introduce women's body armor.

"We already have the first samples of women's body armor. They are being studied for compliance with the technical specification. After all the relevant tests and approvals, we will approve the prototypes of bulletproof vests. Eventually, our defenders will have the opportunity to receive not only field uniforms, but also personal protective equipment in accordance with their anthropometric data," the Defense Minister said.

  • On April 7, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, reported on the process of designing the first summer field uniform for women in the military.

  • On July 30, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine showed the so-called tactical sneakers, which are already at the stage of military research tests for comfort by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
