Ukraine will produce HYDREMA 910 demining machines
The production of modern demining machines is being localized in Ukraine in cooperation with the world leader in this field, the Danish Hydrema company
This was reported by the Ukrainian parliament, with reference to Dmytro Kysylevskyi, deputy chairman of the Committee on Economic Development. Militarnyi portal writes that HYDREMA 910 machines will be manufactured.
The two memoranda were signed during the Ukrainian Recovery Conference in London. It is reported that Ukrainian Pozhmashina machinery company is preparing to start production at its facilities in cooperation with Hydrema, and A3Tech-Ukraine has agreed to manufacture equipment using Croatian DOK-ING technologies.
In case of a state order, the Danish government will provide funding, including grants, to meet the needs of Ukrainian services for such equipment.
“This is exactly the kind of reconstruction that Ukraine needs. Foreign partners provide demining technologies, while Ukraine provides production facilities and people. Both foreigners who get new markets and Ukrainians who get new jobs with decent salaries and receive industrial training for local producers are benefiting,” the statement says.
The statement explains that localizing production is much more efficient for Ukraine than purchasing the necessary equipment. In addition, the statement notes that Ukrainian producers have a lot to offer foreign partners: a large fleet of modern machines and equipment, skilled workers and engineers, and lower costs compared to the EU.
“Ukraine is still often offered a loan to buy foreign equipment and then have to pay it back for a long time from unknown sources. We must learn to say no to such offers. And offer a different approach,” Kysylevskyi said in a statement.
For reference. The HYDREMA 910 demining machine is designed to defuse anti-tank and anti-personnel mines containing up to 10 kg of explosives. The demining system is equipped with a 72-chain unit and a deflector screen to protect against explosion and shrapnel. The cab itself is armored to withstand debris, and all major functions are controlled by joysticks. Militarnyi website emphasizes that the HYDREMA 910 has proven itself in hot spots and has long been in service with NATO.- News
