Ukraine will become NATO member when it reaches state borders of 1991 - Serhii Dzherzh
The head of the Ukraine-NATO Public League, Serhii Dzherzh, talks about the results of the meeting of the NATO foreign ministers in Bucharest
He shared his opinion on Espreso TV.
“Ukraine will be accepted to NATO when it reaches the state borders of 1991. Thus, it will be possible to implement it quickly. Given that there is a decision of the Constitution and a letter sent by the president, the prime minister and the speaker of the parliament. The air defense of Ukraine will be strengthened, taking into account the Russian Federation's shameful attacks on the infrastructure of Ukraine, even before winter,” Dzherdzh said.
The head of the Ukraine-NATO Public League also added that it is important to preserve the Ukrainian energy and transport infrastructure.
“Partners will supply Ukraine with heavy weapons, but only Ukraine's General Staff will know about some things. We expect ammunition and heavy equipment for the Armed Forces. The Polish Ministry of Defense also made a statement, which said that the Patriot air defense system should be located not only in Poland, but also in Ukraine. In this way, both Ukraine and NATO's Eastern flanks will be protected,” Dzherdzh concluded.
