Ukraine demands UN peacekeepers to protect critical infrastructure - Office of the President
Ukraine applied to the UN Security Council on the introduction of a peacekeeping contingent to protect critical industrial infrastructure
This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Office of President Andriy Sybiga, Espresso.TV reports.
"Considering the threat to critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine (nuclear power plants, chemical industry facilities), we appealed to the UN Security Council to introduce a peacekeeping contingent to protect these facilities. The aggressor country cannot block this", Sybiga said.
He added that work is also underway to deprive Russia of the right to vote in the UN Security Council.
Also, according to Sybiga, today the President of Ukraine signed a decree on the creation of a special legal group that will ensure Ukraine's claims in international jurisdictions for war crimes of the Russian Federation and qualifies them as genocide of the Ukrainian people. This group has already been formed.
"Corresponding lawsuits are being prepared. The group has already started legal procedures. Therefore, there will definitely be punishment for the Russian Federation", he said.
