Russian invaders have declared the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant a part of Rosatom. This was announced in an interview with Radio Svoboda by the acting head of Energoatom Pavlo Kotin.

“They told the management that this is now a Rosatom station, and it no longer belongs to Ukraine, and the Russians have come here for a long time and this is now the territory of Russia, and therefore the nuclear plant should work in accordance with the decrees of Rosatom", he said.

Pavlo Kotin emphasized that workers continue to work at gunpoint.

"The staff, they all are patriots. If they had weapons there, they would have shot them all, but they must listen to what they are told. That is, they now travel around the city and appear in the administration of Energodar sometimes. But the staff understands that this is a very important nuclear facility. If they leave, there may be a nuclear catastrophe. Therefore, they continue to work at gunpoint", Pavlo Kotin added.

He stressed that the goal of the Russian invaders is to seize all nuclear power plants. "Yes, that's their goal", he said.

He said that the Russian invaders tried to seize the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant, but they successfully defended it, given the experience of Energodar.

"The South Ukrainian nuclear power plant, there was a very big threat. And now, after they captured the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, they moved in the direction of the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant. But there was already the experience of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine understood all this, and the administration also understood all this, so appropriate measures were taken there to prevent this", the head of Energoatom said.

“They were met at the turn of Voznesensk. This city is 35 kilometers from the nuclear power plant, bridges were disabled there so that they would not pass, there they were given a fight and the Armed Forces of Ukraine threw them back beyond Mykolaiv and they could not move further. But there were serious attempts and the fight was very serious, as far as I know. But they didn’t go through", he said.
