There were 8 rockets. Literally split seconds - and children managed to get out of the kitchen, they we’re eating - two sisters from Chernihiv told how they survived during occupation and shellings
Two sisters from Chernihiv who survived in occupation told horrific details of Russian shelling by occupation forces in the city
Petro Poroshenko told in his Telegram about that.
"We live behind this house. There were eight rockets. I don't know how, literally a split second, and children had time to get out of the kitchen, they were eating. I live at the second floor. Children were shocked, everyone was scared. There was no connection. We were worried about my sister, nephew and father. And she was worrying about us. Because I was with my mother and children. And my younger sister is with her father and children, "said Chernihiv resident.
Woman notes that it is very cold in the basement with small children.
"We were hiding in basements. But when there are small children, it is very cold and very humid. My sister and I have a common friend with children. We don't know if she is alive or not. My civilian husband was killed March 3. For the first time today I can see the city, I see my district where I grew up. It hurts because my friends lived here, and I don't know if they are alive or not. I'm glad that at least my family is alive, "said tChernihiv resident.
Women thanked Ukrainian Armed Forces, Territorial Defense for their rescue, and volunteers for their help.
"God bless our guys who are protecting us. And we are finally sleeping peacefully in apartments, not basements. Because there is humanitarian aid. Because my sister was released, I was able to hug her and my nephews."
Petro Poroshenko, who brought medicine, food and generators for city hospital, noted that what people of Chernihiv experienced is difficult to accept without tears.
“What Chernihiv residents went through is hard to accept without tears. More than a month around. Without light, heat and food. Yesterday I heard stories from Chernihiv residents. Terrible stories. The war forced them to hide in damp basements with small children. Unknowingly alive their relatives or not. And there are many such stories. It was difficult, but Chernihiv survived. Its inhabitants also survived. Our spirit must not be broken. Ukraine must not be conquered. Light will surely overcome darkness. And Ukraine will defeat Mordor, "Poroshenko said
