The UN named the number of Ukrainian civilians killed by Russian invaders
Since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression in Ukraine, at least 1,081 civilians have died
This is reported by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
According to the United Nations, civilian casualties from February 24, 2022, when Russia launched a war against Ukraine, to March 24, 2022, count to 2,788, including 1,081 dead.
"The UN believes that the real numbers are much higher, especially in government-controlled territory, and especially in recent days, as the receipt of information from some places where there was intense fighting has been delayed, and many reports are still pending confirmation", the UN stated.
This applies to Mariupol and Volnovakha (Donetsk region), Izium (Kharkiv region), Severodonetsk and Rubizhne (Luhansk region), Trostyanets (Sumy region), where there are reports of numerous civilian casualties.
"The majority of civilian deaths or injuries were caused by the use of explosive devices with a large impact zone, in particular, shelling from heavy artillery and multiple launch missile systems, as well as missile and air strikes", the document says.
