The prosecutor's office has evidence of Russia's use of banned cluster bombs in the Odesa and Kharkiv regions
Russian Federation used banned cluster bombs in the Odesa and Kherson regions.
This was stated by Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova, reports NV.
"We have evidence in the Odesa region, we have evidence in the Kherson region, where cluster bombs and cluster shells are used directly," she said.
According to her, the Russian army used these shells in Kyiv as well. Evidence of this crime is being collected.
She added that during the full-scale invasion of Russia, law enforcement officers recorded more than 3,000 criminal proceedings involving war crimes and identified about 200 suspects.
Reference: Cluster bombs are means of destruction that contain from two to several hundred combat elements of the same type, which are scattered at a given height. They are sprayed over a certain area and provide damage to a larger area compared to monoblock ammunition.
An agreement to ban cluster bombs was reached at an international conference in Dublin in 2008.
