Russian troops leave helicopters, tanks and anti-aircraft guns escaping from Kherson
During the retreat from Kherson region to the left bank of Dnipro river, Russian military left helicopters, tanks, missile launchers and artillery.
Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman of Operational Command South, told this live on air of a united national TV marathon.
"We are working on accounting for "Lend-Lease". Even helicopters were left. Russian forces left multiple missile launchers, tanks and artillery installations. As soon as we are able to sum up the results - we will definitely report", Humeniuk promised.
She noted that it is still difficult to calculate how many Russian soldiers were destroyed during the crossing to the left bank of Dnipro river.
"What followed the course of "Russian warship" still needs to be caught and dealt with. That's why it's difficult to draw any conclusions now", Humeniuk explained.
She added that the number of prisoners captured by Ukrainian military in Kherson region will be announced later. Among them are those captured during the fighting and military personnel who tried to escape by disguising themselves in civilian clothes.
"They were trying to get to their family by hitchhiking, as they say," Humeniuk said.
