"Russian-Soviet tradition": EU ambassador on Russia's attempts to create "Kherson People's Republic" in Kherson
The EU believes that the Kremlin's attempts to create a "Kherson People's Republic" are fully consistent with the Russian-Soviet century-old tradition of establishing "political" facts on the ground.
This was stated by EU Ambassador to Ukraine Matti Maasikas.
“Need to keep a close eye on Kherson. Attempts to create any kind of "peoples republic", "ХНР" or whatever are pretty consistent with the Russian/Soviet century-old tradition of establishing "political" facts on the ground to have "legal" basis for further aggression or partition”, - he wrote on Twitter.
