Russian invaders torture employees of Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant - Minister of Energy of Ukraine
Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko said that Russian invaders are torturing the operational headquarters of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant
German Galushchenko announced this on his Facebook.
"The Russian occupation forces are torturing the operational headquarters of the ZNPP. According to our information, the invaders forced the plant management to record a video that they plan to use for propaganda purposes. The Russian propaganda machine aims to create another fake for its citizens and the international community in an attempt to justify their crimes", it is stated in the appeal.
The Minister of Energy said that there are about 500 Russian military and 50 units of heavy equipment on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
"ZNPP operators have been held hostage for 4 days already. There are about 500 Russian military personnel and 50 pieces of heavy equipment at the station".
The station workers are physically and psychologically exhausted. We call on international partners to take all measures to withdraw the Russian occupying forces from the seized nuclear facilities and close the sky over Ukraine", German Galushchenko said.
In an address to international partners, Galushchenko stressed that a breakdown at a nuclear power plant would lead to a catastrophe throughout Europe.
"A breakdown at a nuclear power plant due to the use of weapons by Russian troops will lead to a catastrophe for the whole of Europe. The responsibility for this will be entirely on Russia. If a breakdown occurs, the Europeans will be forced to switch the comfort of their homes to radiation shelters. We must stop Russia's nuclear terrorism together. We need to do it now before it's too late", Energy Minister German Galushchenko said.
