Russian forces detain minors en masse for pro-Ukrainian views in occupied territories - East Human Rights Group
Russian invading forces in the temporarily occupied territories detain teenagers for interacting with Ukrainian resources on the Internet and discussing the war at school
This was reported by the East Human Rights Group.
"According to the information received, in the occupied territories of Ukraine, the occupiers' security forces have begun actions aimed at combating the "dissent" among minors," the statement said.
In May 2023, Russian security forces in the cities of Antratsyt and Rovenky, Luhansk region, detained 27 minors.
According to the East Human Rights Group, the detentions occur because children in the occupied territories constantly visit Ukrainian Internet resources and argue with teachers about Russia's actions in schools.
The parents of the detainees are threatened with deprivation of parental rights and deportation of their children to Russia.
Such actions are characterized by the fact that the primary informants for the Russian security forces are the ideological advisors of school principals. This position was implemented in schools within Russia and the occupied territories following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
