Russian forces deploy Admiral Essen missile carrier to Black Sea
As of the morning of September 5, there were no Russian missile carriers on combat duty in the Black Sea, but at 6:00 p.m. the Admiral Essen frigate armed with 8 Kalibrs was deployed
This was reported by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"The enemy has deployed a surface missile carrier to the Black Sea for combat duty. The Admiral Essen frigate can be armed with 8 Kalibr missiles," the statement says.
The military emphasizes that the level of missile threat remains consistently high and asks not to ignore air raid warnings.
In the morning, the Navy's press service wrote that eight enemy ships were on duty in the Black Sea and one in the Sea of Azov.
There are 8 enemy ships on duty in the Mediterranean, including two Kalibr cruise missile carriers. A total salvo can be up to 24 missiles.
At the same time, the press service of Operational Command South reports 10 ships in the Black Sea.
Earlier, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff Oleksiy Hromov explained why Russia does not launch strikes from the Mediterranean Sea, although it has the technical capabilities to do so. According to him, this is due to the need for ships to enter the inland waters of other countries and for these missiles to fly through the airspace of NATO member states.
