Russian troops lose two Pantsir systems, a company of soldiers in southern Ukraine
In the southern direction, Russian occupation army lost two Pantsir anti-aircraft missile gun systems, control points, artillery pieces and 150 personnel over the past day. This was reported by Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces.
“More than 150 soldiers, one third of them are dead. One of the most interesting things is the loss of two Pantsir sytems in our operational area yesterday. A few days ago, a Solncepyok was destroyed. For two days in a row, the Russians have been losing 10 artillery pieces in our sector. No less interesting are the losses of control points, UAV control points, and enemy field depots,” noted Pletenchuk.
By the way, the cost of one Pantsir system reaches $15 million. It attacks targets at a distance of up to 15-20 km.
Ukraine's air defense eliminate almost a hundred drones in a week
Over a week (from May 28 to June 3), the Air Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed more than 80 reconnaissance and attack drones. This was reported on June 5 on the Land Forces' website.
A detailed report on the types of drones destroyed was published. 18 Shahed-131/136 UAVs, 18 Lancet UAVs, 17 Orlan-10 UAVs, 11 Zala UAVs, 10 Supercamera UAVs and 7 Privet-82 UAVs were destroyed.
“In modern warfare, enemy UAVs serve as both damage and reconnaissance assets. That is why the destruction of enemy UAVs is the task of the Air Defense of the Ground Forces,” the statement said.
EBRD to provide EUR 300 million to support Ukraine's energy sector
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso, met in Kyiv. As a result, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding, which stipulates that the EBRD will accumulate 300 million euros to support the energy sector of Ukraine. This is stated on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
“This support will help us realize our goal of ensuring a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply across the entire territory of Ukraine,” said Denys Shmyhal.
“The funds will be used by state-owned energy companies Ukrenergo, Ukrhydroenergo and Ukrnafta to restore generating capacities and infrastructure, as well as to build new decentralized generation,” the statement said.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed further cooperation in the economic and financial sectors.
In total, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, the EBRD has provided Ukraine with €4 billion in financing.
